QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Almost my entire professional career
was spent in technical and
administrative positions at Southern
Research Institute (SRI) in
Birmingham, AL. The Institute is a
not-for-profit contract research
organization, which specializes in
research and development in the life
sciences, and in the engineering,
environmental, and energy
disciplines. My area of expertise is
air pollution control technology for
coal-fired power plants. I joined
the technical staff of SRI in
September of 1964, and, with the
exception of a 2.5-year absence to
earn my Ph.D. in chemical
engineering; I was employed there
until my retirement in July of 2003.
