Paul Brignac

Paul has over 25 years of Process and Project Engineering experience. His Process Engineering experience includes plant design, EFD and PFD development, heat and material balances, hydraulics studies, equipment bid evaluations, specification and technical proposal preparation. His Project Engineering has been related to research and development in a variety of pollution control technologies, including mercury and CO2 control for coal fired boilers.
Paul is an expert in design and implementation of mercury control systems for coal-fired boilers. He is proficient at characterizing and measuring mercury using commercially available instrumentation and methods. He develops test plans and selects various emissions testing and equipment subcontractors. He has been a site manager on many pilot scale and full scale projects for EPA, DOE, EPRI and private utilities and is experienced with applicable EPA test methods, emission and combustion calculations. He coordinates solid sample collection, operations data collection and reduction, and prepares comprehensive test reports. Paul is skilled at maintenance and operations of all field test equipment and injection systems.
Paul is currently assigned to the Mercury Research Center, located at Gulf Power’s Plant Crist. He supports the operation and maintenance of the facility, coordination of test programs, calibration and maintenance of the Mercury and other CEM systems at the facility, data acquisition, and data reporting. He also supports all other PCT projects as needed. |
